Activated Carbon is a highly porous, organic material used to remove impurities and hazardous contaminants from liquids and gases. In pure form, activated carbon "adsorbs" or removes contaminants by attracting and holding the undesirable molecules to the carbon surface. This phenonmenon is the result of intermolcular attractions or forces inherent to the carbon pore structure.
Our high-quality activated carbon products can be customized to meet specific performance requirements, or materials can be chosen from our vast portfolio of products that meet existing standards.
Our high-quality coconut activated carbon for chlorine removal is PGW. It has been specially designed to reduce the binder requirements when used to make activated carbon blocks. This powdered carbon comes in a variety of sizes and is available with reduced fines for tighter size distribution control
Our premier coconut carbon for chloroform (VOC) removal is PGWT. This powdered carbon comes in a variety of sizes and is available with reduced fines options for tighter size distribution control.
We are able to provide Activated Carbon Filter, for a non-granular water filtration option. Our Kurafilter Activated Carbon Filter are wet-molded with a proprietary binder which gives lower pressure drop while still providing superior filtration. The activated carbon filter can be formed using a variety of carbon options, depending on the application. This can include standard carbons like PGW, VOC carbons like PGWT, or our chloramine carbons.The Kurafilter activated carbon filters can also, optionally, include silver for biostatic considerations or include lead removal application. The activated carbon filters can be molded to a variety of sizes to meet application needs.
